Association of Volunteer Managers (AVM)

The Association of Volunteer Managers describes itself as ‘a voice, a network and a resource in volunteer management' – it's that and much more, and well worth signing up to if you manage volunteers, either directly or in a coordinating role. Subscription fees are modest – a sliding scale between £1 and £30 per annum – and you can register for free to ‘dip your toe in the water' before signing up as a full member.

Awards for volunteers

We will be hosting an Awards Ceremony on Friday 29th October 2010 to recognise outstanding achievement in volunteer management, long service and extraordinary committment. Details to follow.

Volunteer Managers' Forums

These lively, popular and fast-paced forums are for people who manage volunteers in Ealing. Places fill quickly, so be sure to book a place if you'd like to attend.

The forum held on 15 July focussed on 'Costing and funding volunteering programmes', including presentations on ‘Measuring what matters' and a ‘Volunteering impact assessment toolkit'.

If you weren't able to attend the forum, you'll find plenty of useful guidance on how to measure the impact and the value of volunteers by following these links: ‘Seven principles for measuring what matters', Full cost recovery and VIVA (this is a tool for calculating the economic value of volunteers).

The last forum for 2010 will be held on Wednesday 13 October. We'll email booking details closer to the date.Forums are held at the Lido Centre in West Ealing. They begin at 9.45am (registration) for 10am start, and end at 1pm.
