Help Your Health Community Health Champion Top-up Training - Dementia Awareness

Lots of people think that Dementia is the term used for all types of memory loss as a person gets older and begins to ‘lose their marbles’ as the common saying goes. It is actually an umbrella term for over 100 different diseases of the brain of which Alzheimer’s disease is the most common.

Conditions related to Dementia is becoming one of the leading causes of death in the UK. The sooner someone who potentially has dementia gets a diagnosis the more likely they are to live longer without developing the disease as quickly however this is not true of all forms of dementia. 

Attending this workshop will help you understand more about Dementia and will offer you the opportunity to be come a Dementia Friend.

You will also learn about services available for people who live with dementia in Ealing and how people can Live Well with Dementia.
