Universal Credit is a new type of financial support for people of working age. From early 2018 Universal Credit will replace some of the benefits and tax credits people in Ealing receive.
Universal credit will gradually replace the following benefits with a single payment:
- Housing benefit
- Income support
- Income based job seeker’s allowance
- Income related employment and support allowance
- Child tax credit
- Working tax credit
Most working aged housing benefit claimants will move onto universal credit in a phased approach.
This workshop is for advice workers who would like to know more about Universal Credit and how to help people prepare for the changes.
Alan Toppin, Project Manager Universal Credit at London Borough of Ealing will give a presentation about how the programme will be implemented in Ealing.
We have invited a representative from an Advice Service in Hounslow to talk about the experiences they have of Universal Credit, the issues residents are facing and advice on how to support clients.
There will also be an opportunity to review and comment upon the LBE 2019 - 2023 VCS Grants consultation document.
